Privacy notice

Last updated: October 2026

Who we are

Dayback is a trading name of J & J Enterprise Consulting Limited, registered in England and Wales (company number 07768601). Registered office: C/O SG Accounting, 1 Cedar Office Park, Cobham Road, Wimborne, United Kingdom, BH21 7SB. We are the controller for the personal information described here.

Contact us about privacy at hello@dayback.co.uk.

This notice covers three different things

  • The website contact form — when you send us a message.
  • The live demo — when you try the fictional garage receptionist.
  • A future live service — if your business later uses Dayback to answer its real calls. That isn't covered by this website notice; see the last section.

1. The website contact form

We collect your name, email, and optionally your business name, phone number and anything you write in your message. We use it only to reply and discuss whether Dayback suits your business. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to enquiries you send us), or steps before entering a contract where you're asking about our service.

Messages are stored in our website database. We aim to delete them after 180 days unless we're still in touch with you or have a reason to keep them. Our system checks for and removes messages older than 180 days automatically.

2. The live demo

Please use made-up details only. The demo is a fictional garage example. Don't give your real name, number, vehicle registration or anything else about you on the call.

  • When you start a demo we create a temporary session with a random six-digit code. A private key for it is held in your browser tab only.
  • When you call the demo line, the AI receptionist (provided by Vapi) handles the call. Your phone network will pass your caller number to the call provider, as with any phone call.
  • At the end of the call, a structured summary (the fields shown on screen) is passed via our automation tool (Make) to our website and shown only in your tab. We don't display or store the call transcript or recording on our website.
  • Each session lasts 30 minutes. After that the website stops showing its summary, and the session and summary are deleted from our website database by a scheduled cleanup that runs every few minutes. A call that finishes after the 30 minutes won't be shown.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (letting you try our product). Vapi and Make may keep their own records of the call and its processing. [Owner to verify: Vapi and Make retention settings for the demo, and whether call recording or transcripts are switched off on their side.]

Who we share information with

We use service providers who process information on our behalf:

  • Lovable — hosts this website and its database.
  • Vapi — runs the AI demo receptionist and handles demo calls.
  • Make — forwards the demo call summary to this website.
  • Google Fonts — the website loads its fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
  • Twilio — only if and when we use it to provide the phone line. [Owner to confirm whether it is in use.]

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. [Owner to verify the transfer safeguards each provider relies on before launch.] We don't sell your information.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The demo keeps your session code and private key in your browser's session storage so the summary can appear in your tab; it is removed when the session expires or you close the tab. This is strictly necessary for the demo you asked to use.

Security and abuse prevention

To stop misuse we keep a short-lived, one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your connection's IP address for rate limiting. We don't store raw IP addresses in our website database. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs.

3. A future live service for your business

If your business later uses Dayback to answer its real customer calls, your callers' information would be handled under a separate agreement and privacy information agreed with you. Nothing in this website notice describes that service.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable form. Email hello@dayback.co.uk. Because demo data is deleted shortly after each session, we usually won't hold any demo information to provide.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We'd appreciate the chance to help first.

[Owner to verify whether ICO registration (data protection fee) is required and, if so, add the registration number.]
